I've never dropped a psp because i don't have one yet, but i'm forever dropping my mobile, which is nearly broken.

my brother dropped my laptop once, it cracked but still works.

I've never dropped any of mine, but when i let my friends have a go, they always seem to come close to dropping it. My friend once put my PSP down on the side, but it was too close to the edge and it slid off. Luckily she caught it just before it hit the floor.

Have you tried contacting Sony? If you've had it less than a year, it's likely they'll send you a replacement PSP.

Never as of yet, and its always in its hard case when I'm not playing.
From the stories I've heard of broken umd drives as a result of small drops etc, I'd say their not as tough as the all solid state gba/ds.

When I was young my original monochrome/brick gameboy got a hell of a beating and never had any problems, I guess I'm a little more careful these days.
