On a psp with firmware 2.80 or lower:
MP4-SP videos must be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01 and named M4V#####.MP4 (the # being any numbers you wish, I believe there must be 5 numbers though)

AVC videos must be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\MP_ROOT\100ANV01 and named MAQ#####.MP4 (the # being any numbers you wish, I believe there must be 5 numbers though)

On a psp with 2.81 or above:
All videos can be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\VIDEO and named as you wish.

If the files dont work even when they are named correctly and put in the right place, its possible the videos are not correctly encoded to play back on the psp. Not all mp4 videos you download will play, many are encoded for the ipod or other media players.

If they wont work when named and placed correctly, you could try running the file through PSPVideo9 to re-encode them in a way the PSP can play.

if they have the quicktime symbol on it, does that mean it's encoded for Quicktime only?

That will work. But i use to download things from Limewire but if it has a name on it example "x men 3" Make a folder when you plug up your psp and name that folder Video and post that there.or you can transcode it using PSP video 9

No, the quicktime symbol just means that is the player associated with it on your PC, this is how it should be.

Youve tried what I posted in my first response?

    What firmware are you running?

Open my computer, click the 'tools' dropdown menu, choose 'folder options'.
Click the 'view' tab, then from the big list of checkboxes, make sure 'Hide extensions for known file types' is NOT ticked and click ok.

Go back to where you video is stored and make sure it has a .mp4 file extension (the last part of its name).

If its not .mp4, let me know.

The fact they are not showing up at all makes me think you are putting the files in the wrong place, naming them incorrectly if your running firmware 2.80 or lower, or they have the wrong file extension.

If they are named and placed correctly, they should show up even if they wont play.
