nvm, i found a really easy guide heres the link with anyone with the same problem How to Install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in Ubuntu -- Ubuntu Geek

EDIT: okay, thats dumb. i install java open frostwire and all looks good then when it opens, it just says frostwire at the top and its a white window. has anyone gone through this and fixed it? if so tell me how.

Ok, two things.

1. Chris, RPM's are not compatible with Ubuntu. RPM = Redhat / Fedora. DEB = Debian / Ubuntu.

2. Moose, turn Beryl off and then run Frostwire. Make sure KWin or Metacity is set as the window manager. If you're running Compiz-Fusion open a terminal and run this command:

metacity --replace

Then run Frostwire. When you need to go back, run this command:

compiz --replace
