A start-up located in the French Alps near Grenoble is readying a tiny ARM-based Linux single-board computer (SBC) in a USB key form-factor. Calao, based in Sant Martin le Vinoux, is also readying a tiny Linux SBC designed to plug into QIL (quad in-line) IC sockets.
This thing is awesome.

You've got my attention.
A Starcraft quote, lol...
This is stupid... Why make a self contained computer that needs to be plugged into a USB port? That means you need two computers. And if you have two computers, either
A) It has linux installed on it - you dont need to use a severely underpowered and likely unattractive distro.
B) it doesnt have linux, in which case you would be better of spending $10 on a USB key and putting DamnSmallLinux on it with Qemu.
In conclusion, you do not have my attention.

Sorry faggot, I must have missed that part of the article... you know... where they claim the goal of this is to make a free operating system very expensive to put onto an already overpriced system.
Oh wait...
It doesnt say that.
NOT ONLY THAT!
But it doesnt actually say anything about sony, or the play station three. What I learned from reading that article is that it is for POS (Point of sale) terminals. Which actually makes sense. But that does not mean ultra-portable linux machines to show off to the buddies - it means an extremely cramped linux distribution, probably with nothing more than basic I/O and an SSH client and wireless drivers.
And dont be so bold as to assume that this will even have a GUI
chmod +us /home/Mitochondria/base
i kinda likey that little computer

Why is this being bumped 6 months after creation?
Stop t3h bickering.
