Re partition it. Easiest way to do that is to use a live disk partition utility. I personally like Gparted. You can get it HERE

i just got linux mandrive it was release on oct. 7 2007
and i tryed to install it on a external hard drive but it doesnt operate good so i tryed re formating the external hard drive but when i partion it i though ti put 100GB's but it was 10GB's And i got a 500GB external HD how do i recover those 500Gb back ????????????

Follow kmc77's advice on formating, and then mount it under your /home partition. That way you get to use the 490GB for your personal files, and 10GB for system files. I believe that Mandriva has a configuration utility for it, but I am not too sure.
