08-02-2008, 08:41 PM Not to seem like the newb that I am but, how the hell can I get ubuntu on windows? I download it and it comes out as an ISO and I'm like WTF? Do I open it with WinRAR?
08-02-2008, 08:54 PM You have to burn it to a disk, as an ISO image. A good way to do that is to use nero 8. Download the 30 day trial from the site.
after that click on data cd and then options will come up for burning an image to a disk. click choose yor file and then your done.

Uh.
You realize Ubuntu is an operating system you don't 'run it', so you can get ubuntu on windows.
Burn the archive to the disc, pop it in your pc, boot with the disc and let it load if you like what it looks like from the LiveCd then install it.

08-04-2008, 06:00 AM you can use this Wubi - Ubuntu Installer for Windows to install Ubuntu inside windows
and if you do not like it you can just uninstall it

08-04-2008, 01:54 PM I use wubi, and its great. A lot better because it uses the windows bootloader instead of Lilo bootloader etc...
You could also try Ubuntu in VmWare first of course...

Anyway, the wubi installer is pretty neat, but it does come pre-installed with 8.04, just don't boot from the disc, explore the cd in windows.
08-06-2008, 01:18 PM Everytime i click the Wubi-8.04 installer from the disc, it starts to download the .iso file from Ubtunu. I had to download the file, and copy the Wubi-8.04 installer with my iso on my desktop to install it.
