I posted a thread like this already, but it got burried cuz apparently no one else cares about case mods :P Quote: |

I just did a neat little mod to my ibook. it sorta looks better in the pictures than in rl, I'm not really satisfied with it, it's not quite bright enough for my liking, so I might tinker with it more in the future. | |

haha, yep, I'm a fan of blue, as anyone who's seen my other works could tell :P no need to delete, maybe this one will stay up front for a while. what did you use to do yours? I just spray painted a piece of a page protector and inserted it in there. |

Nice I have yet to get around to modding my mini case. I know I guy that fabricates carbon fiber pieces for bikes. I am trying to get him to design me a my mini with the same dimensions, only slightly taller so I can but spacers on the drive tray and lift it up off the board. Then I want to fit a small water colling set up in there.
If not the carbon fiber, I will defintely be fabricating one out of fiber glass. |

could do fiberglass to save money, then use a single layer of carbon fiber over the surface to give it that look and texture. afterall, carbon fiber is sheets of material till you add a hardener to it. why not use it for the surface only and save a lil money?
if you just want the carbon fiber look, you can buy self ashesive sheets of carbon fiber patterned plastic and apply it like a skin. |

no no I am not one to apply carbon fiber stickers for the look. I am wanting to lighten it up and actually utilize what the material is designed for.
none the less going with the fiber glass would be just about as lite and then I could apply a nice paint job. The dude that paints our race bikes is bad ass, I would let him go to town on it. |

It's not a hardware mod... it's actually just my desktop:
^Click for fullsize, 1280x1024
Did I mention it's my WindowsXP desktop? Not very authentic but I like using it.
I'm using Litestep as the shell with the Mac OS X theme by Joshhh. The XP shellstyle is one of those generic Tiger styles. RK Launcher for the dock, and all the shell icons/sounds/cursors/boot screen/login came from Flyakite OS X.

2. I don't have the install image anymore, and the torrent with the hacked OS X image seems to be dead.
