This is the infmaous blue screen of death, windows likes to give; on a gas pump. With OS X finding it's way to such a small device like a phone, and whispers of a iNav GPS system that runs OS X; Maybe we will start to see Apple claiming some of the small terminial market shares.

alot of people dont like windows. why? because microsoft hasnt fixed issues that have existed in the OS for YEARS. windows has the potential to be a excellent OS, yet microsoft has gotten lazy since most people NEED windows to use their computers. alot of them arnt confident enough to make the jump to linux or try a mac, so they keep buying buggy OS's from microsoft. the problem is that microsoft knows their shit will sell and in turn doesnt bother to fix bugs if it doesnt affect their sales. its sad

as far as the actual thread topic goes, its funny. ive seen that up here a few times when i go to fill my tank up. alot of the stations here still use really simple computers inside them though, so we dont get that too much

Things like ATM's, gas pumps, and info kiosks should all use linux, I dont know why anyone would run windows on one. I think it would be neat if apple got into this kind of market but it is doubtful.

If microsoft would ditch the registry foundation, it would be a step in the right direction for windows.

The problem with public devices running linux is that you have an open sourced operating system running software with secured/financial information. I think its a fine idea though. It is true that most business computers use windows. Most POS (point of sales, ie cash registers) run on windows (or older ones on dos). I managed a restraunt for a while and researched purchasing a new POS software package and almost all of them run in a windows enviroment.

Ugh. Blue Screen of death after paying a ridiculous price for gas?
    *pukes*

It's just to bad Microsoft controlls this part of the market. (Financial information from numerous amounts of people on windows? Bleh.)
