    Ok, well heres my situation...

Looking at some of the great gateway notebooks that will meet my needs...

2GB DDR2 Memory, Core 2 duo prosessor, etc

Anyway, I need a laptop for the following things

    Internet, Wireless Card built in

Great graphics, Watching many movies, want a crisp clear look

Video editing, so I need something with fast rendering.

Games, I want to play the latest games... SOMETIMES, not too many though, if that helps

    Word prosessors, for screenwriting.

The one thing i DONT care much for is the hard drive, how much space it has.. All i know is that it can support External hard drives, Large ones too (Im getting an external terabyte HD)

Im using it for Final cut pro, and just because macs look cool. BUT I'm so used to windows XP, and I love the games I can play on it, will they work for Mac?
What can I and Cant i run from windows on a mac? Just curious (I know the stuff like microsoft word and such, but anything else?

PS - talk lamen terms, I dont know jack about Macs

macs can run Boot Camp. because microsoft isnt entirely proprietary, they allow their os to run on mac hardware. With boot camp you can dual boot osx and xp on a mac. Im not sure how well it works since i hate macs and thus dont have one, but ive only seen simple applications run on xp on a mac.

It runs natively. Can run any anything that a PC with equal specs can.

isnt it only the pro models that you can change hardware in? I read somewhere that in the non pro models they lock you out of ever changing hardware.

Never heard of that, but I said MBP anyways. MBP are definitely the way to go though, way better than an iBook.
