I have halo for pc and i just bought a mac and was told to use parallel. I got the newest version where it is supposedly supposed to be able to play games on it. I load my halo and register it and when i got to play now, i get an error. Im not sure what to do or if its even possible to play it throuhg parallels 3.0 (mac with windows xp). Is ther something with DirectX or OpenGL i could do? Im pretty sure its something with the 3d graphics and i want to no if im screwed or not. I already loaded directx and did the direct draw and diag and its not working or im not doing it correctly. Help Please!!!!!

What graphics chipset does your Mac have? I know Halo PC is incompatible with many cards that are more than capable of running it (and probably for no explainable reason. Halo PC is a pretty shitty port after all.)

If it's an Intel graphics chipset you may as well forget about it, even if Halo ran it wouldn't run well. If it's a newer nVidia or ATi, you shouldn't be having any problems

i have games from my old pc's and now that i made the switch to mac...im trying to save money...the macbook has Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory. Is that good or bad? if halo doesnt work, are there any pc games that will work through parallel 3.0? Like knights of the old republic or some star wars game like that?

p.s. roller coaster tycoon worked lol

unfortunately the only thing you can do is get wine, or get the mac version. it actually works pretty well on the macbook, i have one and it runs fine

Parallels isn't made for extreme gaming like that. They say that on their site, boot into windows if you want to do that.

as mentioned, if you want to pc game on a mac; you need to use bootcamp. Although it could be run through parallels, for best results use bootcamp.

nobody gave the best answer to this so i thought i'd chime in, try and use your serial for halo on windows for the mac version of halo.
