any g5 mac is based on a power pc processor. you have a iMac, not g5 iMac. please show me where I can still order a g5 off of apple's website.
also all macs use mobile (laptop processors) except the mac pro. The only way your getting more clock speed is by physically swapping the processor for a faster one. I call bullshit on your claims. post a system profiler screen shot. |

@unrinanus
Kalyway makes the best discs, but the 10.5.1 disc doesnt have ANY sse2 support. It wont even boot the cd on an sse2 system. iatkos 10.5.1 works perfect though.
For vanilla and efi you need a core2duo or higher. Theres no way around this, so Darwin and Mach_Kernel is the way to go. EFI+Vanilla is supposed to be more stable, but i dont have a core2duo so i cant tell you from experience.
The vanialla kernal was supposed to allow hac's to use the software update to go from 10.5.X to 10.5.X+1 but that didnt work so well with the 10.5.2 update. Which sucks, but kalyway made the sweet updater that works great.

I am pretty sure that there was an sse2 option on the installer, I installed kalyway 10.5.1 on an acer 3680 that has a celeron processor.
iATKOS is good alternative choice. |

Yeah, Kalyway's dvd says it supports sse2, but me and a few other guys had trouble with sse2 p4's.
Kalyway's are by far the best dvd's though. Ill be using that one on my new build. Its nice that it comes chock full of programs. Saves an hour worth of set up.

use nero or imgburn to burn the .iso, you don't have to burn a mac formatted disc, since you are booting it on a PC; you will need a disc with the MBR format. Just simply use the burn image option in nero, or imgburn and select the .iso to burn.
I SUGGEST INSTALLING TO AN EXTERNAL USB DRIVE, so that you can get your install options straight before messing with your drive with your winduhs install. Your probably gonna install OS X a couple of times before you have it right.
If you dont have a external, the use a 8gb usb flash key. Or if you have a 8gb memory stick for your psp then put it in, and hook it up to the computer in USB mode. It will be slow, but you can use it for testing. Your just gonna have to use the disk utility on the OS X installer to format the drive with the MBR partition scheme, and the Mac OS journaled file system.

lol yeah. I installed osx 5 times before i got it right. After you figure out what works its easy to install it again, even on different hardware. There are just a ton of patches and fixes that can be confusing until you understand what they all do.

OK sorry for the bump. ( I hope the thread creator doesn't complain)
People on "other" forums
I have an external HDD now.
I tried to install leo4allv2 on my internal hd on a partition, i got to the GUI, used disk utility and it started installing but i got an error: "OS X can not be installed on your computer. Click restart to restart your computer and try again"
Ok so that messed up my windows partition somehow.
So i re-installed XP, and tried again, only when it gets to the black screen with the white text saying its loading the .kext files (sorry i dont know what its called) it then goes to a blue screen and freezes there. my dvd drive stops working and so does my hard drive.
I read somewhere that your system state has to be changed (ACPI) but this was telling me how to change it in bios from S0 to S1 or S2, Problem is when i go into Bios i dont have an option like that.
I know this is a PSP forum, but ive posted several times on the appropriate forum and no one replies, and this is just a far better place
thanks
*PS ive successfully installed the tiger flat image on a partition but when i launch programs i downloaded nothing happens, and i prefer leopard
