Akira (Live Action Film)

I was browsing around for actor Jason Gordon-Levitt (the guy who played the kid from "3rd Rock From The Sun" sitcom) and then I found out that he is casted to play the infamous character Tetsuo Shima, from the classic anime, Akira. The film is expected to come out 2009. Okay, so we all know that Jason is not Japanese and that the film is probably gonna be Americanized all to hell. I don't know about you guys but I thought of it and I think it's going to be awesome. I also wonder who is considered to play Kaneda.

Leonardo DiCaprio... first time producer is going to take on the Akira project.... Why oh why can I sense an epic failure for this movie? I think that all good things should be left alone. Or at least left animated... I wouldn't mind a full CG remake of it tho =p Yes I just contradicted myself... But meh... Personally I think that the Japanese would do a better job of it than DiCaprio would. Regardless of it being a live action remake or a CG remake. =p

I think that if the Japanese were to make the live action, it most likely wouldn't suck. A good example is Battle Royal, which was actually a novel and manga and then made into two films. Thought the novel was superior to all versions of Battle Royal, the first BR film was very enjoyable for many fans. However, BR II sucked. Leonardo DiCaprio? I don't think that's a good idea..
