Sound problem.

I was trying to watch a dvd from the psp on the bus and couldn't hear a single thing. I use those cheap-o earphones that came with a cd play i use to have. They are fine for games and all but with movies I can't hear anything.

Would the sound improve if i buy those sony psp earphones?

yes better earphones = loader and higher quality sound
it could also be the software/converter that is making the sound low.

The game sound level is okay, movie is like a whisper level. Theirs a big difference in sound, i'll try one of the sony earphones but i think it might be the movie.
