Default 3GP on Vista

I am fairly new at this converting DVD vid to PSP thing. Basically I start with Clone DVD to put in on my laptop then I use the AutoGK to convert to AVI. I have tried to download the 3GP but I am using Vista and seem to be having trouble. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

You could try using pspvideo9 or xvid4psp to convert instead of 3gp. You can easily find these programs by google.

Eh, well first off, 3GP is for cellphone videos and music that use the .3g* extension. It's a combination of mpeg4 video and AAC audio (not sure about the audio.)

The point is, DVD's use mpeg2 codec. You need to find a DVD converter, not a 3GP converter.

The program he is using is called 3gp converter it has an option to convert dvd to mp4 format for the psp. So he is on the right road just that he is having compatibility issues.

duke,

Thanks for the tip. Once the file is in the correct format, what do you guys use to transfer it to the PSP. Also do I need to create a special folder in the PSP to use these files?

Yes, I know, but they are poorly suited to converting DVD's to non-3G formats. They can do it, yes, but that doesn't mean they do it well or fast.

If I were you I'd take a look at a program called 'Free iPod Video Converter.' I'm pretty sure it has a Vista version. It'll convert movies to 320 res or you can stick with the original res if you like. It's free and easy to use, and it's also pretty fast.
