You are an anomaly my friend. Those two genre lovers are like MORTAL ENEMIES.
Although, if you talk to any real METAL fans they would probably want to kick your ass for calling bands like All that remains strictly "metal".
Nothing personal man, please don't take offense, I just know alot of METAL fans. I think too many popular bands consider themselves a genre they ultimately aren't a part of. Infusing their desired genre style with pop music, thus ruining the name of the genre when it becomes popular to listen to.
Personally, I think it's all a sinister plot started by THE MAN to deface musical creativity, making all music eventually sound the same for the purpose of ultimate control and financial gain. Ok, maybe not to THAT extreme, but come on, who can argue that half the bands on popular radio sound the same.
That being said, I'm not against any new bands, but I do prefer to listen to mostly older stuff: Cream, The stones, the who, santana, hendrix, the doors, the cure, the clash, pink floyd. My favorite artist has, and probably always will be Bob Dylan though. I like Jimmy Eat World, The Mars Volta, Radiohead, Muse, Brand New,
WILCO and a whole slew of other new/recent bands as well. Too many to name them all I guess.
I hate specifying a genre because I love music, and listen to ALOT of different "genres"
