Any way to play UMD movie ISO without inserting UMD in the drive

Hi,
I have backed up a UMD movie in ISO format, ..... But it will only play when a UMD is in the drive ......... Is there any way of playing it without UMD in the drive ? ............. I have searched the net, but everywhere they say that you need to have a UMD in the drive in oder to play the movie image.

If every guide you find says you need one in the drive, then you need one

i believe it works the same as a game. if you go into recovery menu there is an option to set m33 driver "no umd" or something like that.

put it in iso/video/, go to the vsh menu, ISO VIDEO MOUNT.

Updating firmware to 3.90 M33 didnt helped ............... Well i guess i have to stick with umd in the drive if i want to watch movie

The process of playing a umd movie iso is what canadianbacon said but in addition to that you also need to have a umd (of any kind) in the drive to play the movie or else the movie wont start..........
The umd part of the process is my problem, As i want to play the movie without inserting UMD in the drive.........
Every article i found in the net says that umd is must to play the movie iso ........ So i guess theres no solution to my problem

i never had to have a UMD in my drive while i was using CB's posted method. have you tried both drivers for your UMD (no umd sony or m33)? mine works just fine without a umd.

Yeah i tried both the no umd driver as well as OE isofs driver but it did not work

Is there a problem with waiting an hour for a movie to download. Why don't you just use Azureus and some torrents instead of going through all of this stupid nonsense.

because some individuals are attempting to discuss legal ways of backing up and using their own purchased UMD movies not the illegal pirated movies you're discussing downloading.

What he meant was UMD Video and not MP4 video. Hope you know the difference.

why is it such a bad thing to have a umd in the psp, i use my psp for storing a game usually.

To sum this up -

Under 3.90 m33 - when in the PSP OS (XMB) - you know where you select games or movies or music. Yeah, that place. (The Desktop of the PSP if all u know is windows), yeah, that place - Press the select button, go to ISO Video Mount and find the video.iso file there. Select it.

This assumes you followed all previos steps and actually have the M33 driver selected (or the sony 9660 if that doesn't work) AND the video.iso file is in you iso/video folder.

GenJackson - Saves wear and tear on the UMD drive. Several folks have had their PSPs for a while and are begining to (if not already) experience drive failure. It's far easier to wera out and replace an MS then a UMD drive.
