Post EZBuilder

I use this program to convert movies (all formats, RM/QT/Divx/etc) for all my devices, ipod/iphone/DS/PSP/GBA. It's really fast too. I think it's the best converter out there and thought I'd share it with you guys. If anyone knows PERL, you can write plugins to convert pretty much every device known to man (MP4/DPG/PMP).

ezbuilder

It's a very simple command line application but really well written. All I do is put the videos I want to convert into the MediaFile Folder and run ezbuilder.

Instructions from website:

1. Copy the videos you want to convert into the MediaFile folder.

2. Then run ezbuilder.exe.

3. Choose the target you want.

When your file is converted, it should show up in the DoneFile directory.

Ezbuilder needs the following software (It needs system codec for directshow reading)

1. Avisynth 2.5.6a (or higher version) http://www.avisynth.org

2. For converting rm / rmvb , please install Real Alternative

Free-Codecs.com :: Download Real Alternative 1.75 : Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer/RealOne Player

3. For converting Quicktime file type clip , please install QuickTime Alternative

Free-Codecs.com : QuickTime Alternative 2.5.1 : QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt and other extensions) without having to install the official QuickTime Player.

4. Suggest installing K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (it has Quicktime and Real codecs already!)

Free-Codecs.com :: Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.9.0 : The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack includes the K-Lite Codec Pack Full, QuickTime Alternative, Real Alternative support and Monkey's Audio DirectShow decoder.

Here are some screenshots:

And here are some more profiles to convert to other devices besides the PSP. Also has profile for PMP format.

Another thing you can do is to use is "hardlinks"

Sometimes I need to convert gigs and gigs of video for my DS/iPod/Play Yan. However, you have to “copy” or “move” the video into the “MediaFile” folder which takes time and lots of extra HD space. By using “Hardlinks”, you don’t have to copy/move them there at all. You just make a symbolic link to the file. Not a shortcut but a link so that programs will think it’s actually in that directory when it’s not. NTFS supports this and is very useful.
