Your prefer'd bitrate?
What bitrate do you guys use when encoding mp4s? I use 640kbs for video 64kbs for audio. I have a feeling that I could probably go a little higher with the audio and a little lower with the video. What would you guys recommend?
I watched a video a while ago saying that the best size + quality bitrate on the psp is 384kbs video 92kbs audio, but I noticed a huge decrease in quality from 640kbs which is to be expected.

Depending on the space you have for storage I would prefer 786 KBs for video and 92 or 128 kbs for audio, will give you good quality but will hog space . If you want to save space just go at the current KBs you are set at now because if you lower it anymore it will look like one of those cam videos that are downloaded from torrents (If you know what I mean ).

Yeah, I don't know what you guys are talking about. 92kbps for audio?!?!? What the hell? 192kbps is the lowest bitrate that you should have in my opinion. Most of my music is 320kbps. Why would you have such a crappy bitrate? Do you guys enjoy not really listening to your music? Good job cezar, you know where it's at.
92?!?!?!?!? |

no no kid, in video. In music I use 320kbps as well but when it comes to movies I could care less the audio can encode in 92kbs

But to be honest it doesn't actually matter what audio encoding there is for video so there really isn't much of an exact "preference"
For audio however I know that not many people can tell the difference between 128kbps and say 1411kbps(aka WAV) but it really is all down to the sound card you have and primarily the speakers. If you love music like I do then no decent speakers are "too expensive"

lol, im not gonna get much into them, but I'm only talkin bout the buds I think there called smokin buds er sumin. Well they're terribly overpriced imo. Especially when you can get Marshmallows for less and they rape the shit out of the skull candies imo I guess but I'm sure other audiophiles would agree

thorngravy, I'm pretty sure anyone who knows anything about audio AND life wouldn't get the skullcandies. No offense but they aren't that good for people who really, really get into their music, and come on now...the brand name is skullcandy?!?! Wtf.
I have these headphones which are fantastic. I'm a total audiophile. And I got my gf (who isn't the obese one I hate in the picture below but the one in the black) isn't an audiophile and can't tell the difference between a 320 bitrate and 128 bitrate so I got her those smokin' buds half a year ago because I knew she wouldn't tell the difference between those and my other sony buds. She also thought they looked cool
