PSP Speaker Docks--- Any good ? Reviews ???
Hey Folks !!
I've been online almost 24/7 here trying to answer this question. I don't know anyone personally to ask, and there's nothing in the local stores to see or test. My info is strictly from viewing ebay sales.
I want to use my PSP to watch movies and listen to music/books, almost in place of my bedside CD player, and if i dont wanna watch the TV at night.
So, long use, both loud and low settings. I know the PSP speakers are not so great.
PSP SPEAKER DOCKS, CASES, etc.......
There are TONS. Nyko Speaker Case, Intec Speaker Case, React Speaker Case -- and each is also a charging dock, some have remotes. Some charge for 4/5/7 hours. Some have 1W, 4W, 15W.....
Same with the Movie/Speaker Docking Stations (Logic3, Intec, React, etc............)
An price is from $5-50 (i cant do $50)
ANYONE GOT HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH SOME ?????
Please LIST or PM me, name and quick review.
I want to buy something ASAP, but can only afford one budgeted attempt.
THANKS FOR THE ASSIST FOLKS !

Also looking for the exact same thing because unless I graft subs into the thing I ain't going to be hearing it above my mates talking, the speakers are outdone by my pc linked to stereo on -74Db setting (I don't know why its minus theres no logic behind it other than it ends at 0) being a musician I like to sing along yet can't with psp because I won't hear the song anymore.
I'm looking portable, loud, bassy when asked to be, plugable to mains AND batteries, stability and seriously I have bad hearing I mean LOUD.
I also see no-one has commented as yet surely one of you has a speaker stand by now?! my mate has one it is dark for watching films, I mean can you carry your tv outside while your watching a film? have you ever watched black hawk down in a shed ^^

Ok, here is a couple of ideas. They are unorthodox, but they will work and you may find more for your money than you think.
Have you thought about a small cheap stand to hold the psp upright. Or do you own one? If the answer is yes, then you're halfway home now. Most of the speaker configurations for the psp ipod.... whatever have 2 things in common. 1. They gouge you in the ass price wise because they are proprietary items. Only Sony (or whomever) makes the psp so you think you have to buy their speakers and memory... 2. All the speaker designs suck. Period. Granted, the suckage is on several layers, but you can put 48 layers of high gloss lacquer on a dollop of fido fesses, but no amount of polishing it is going to keep it from being the piece of shit it really is.
So here is my solution. Get a cheap stand so the unit can sit with relative use and reach. Then get a good pair of computer speakers. 2.1s are the better option. For <$50 you can get a pretty good sound system for starters. No it won't reproduce the sound pressure of an explosion, but it will sound a damn sight better than those eureka p.o.s.s that they are trying to get you to buy. Not to mention that speaker connectors are the same as the headset for the psp.
Think it over and let me know what you think... |

I find headphone leads not designed for psp, well I haven't tried a psp one, but regular ones mess up and lose a channel if they get knocked or twist, which is often unless your sat still, which is why its useless in a car right now.
Is there psp specific headphones and how much also I have the logitech case which is dark as a stand and protects drops even with open psp bounces out and no damage and you can play with the case still on psp all access gaps.
as for the speaker situation a stand, a secure lead, an amplifier circuit of some sort and a speaker would be the thing, custom homebrew psp stands :O

The headphone jack coming from the PSP is a 5mm mini plug that accommodates all ear buds and that style of headphones. Remarkably, it is the same standard that the PC/MAC uses to hook up their speaker systems as well. That was why I mentioned using a set of 2.1 as a sound set up. Sure the sky is the limit as far as sound reinforcement goes. I have accrued 5 thousand watts of power over my time and can give my PSP the ultimate power to rip the paint off my neighbors house, but then why wouldn't I just save all that for the big screen tv and surround sound stuff. Way too much overkill...
As for the headphones, I use my old touring head phones made by Sony (about $300 at the time) and they work beautifully. It just takes a bit more for the PSP to drive them, so some of my movies aren't as loud as I would like them to be. That, and my old ass is deaf too.
Take care of those ears and eyes guys... They're the only set you have. |

Logitech Playgear Amp Amazon.com: PSP PlayGear Amp: Video Games
Has clip to hold psp between speakers made for phat but slim sits there fine.
Pick up the last set on sale at Gamestop for 9.99 originally 39.99.
They are AMAZING, so much louder and clearer then the psp speakers.
Even better than my laptop speakers, I plug them into my laptop to watch all my anime now.
I'm loving Logitech's accessories between the playgear amp and playgear street, I don't know what's left to get! |

Can anyone help... I have five VTS_01_ files that make up a movie I have loaded on PSP. The first one plays but wont lead onto the next and so on to play the complete movie. If you open the files individually on the PC they play but on PSP only the first one plays and rest say "video can't be played"...Any suggestions, Ta. |
