You can't watch HD on PSP, since the maximum video resolution is 720x480, whereas HD it atleast 1280x720.

Default Help:How to put HD video on PSP

I found the guide for Xilisoft hd video converter, copy it here.

the official website says it is a professional HDTV video converter tool designed to transform your video to various high definition video formats like HD ASF Video, HD AVI Video, HD H.264 Video, HD Quick Time Video, HD MPEG4 Video, etc. It can convert TS to WMV HD, AVI to TS HD, WMV HD to TS HD and so on. Xilisoft HD Video Converter can also convert audio to audio, video to audio and picture, as well as create videos from pictures. The HD Video Converter also supports the H.264 video format, offering much higher efficiency than MPEG2 standard used in DVD videos. It supports all output devices, such PSP,iPod,iPhone, etc.

The following is a step by step guide for how to use it
First, Download, install and run Xilisoft HD Video Converter.
Step 1: Add File
Click "Add File" button on the toolbar or "File > Add File" to load files.
Step 2: Choose output format
Choose the file, click "Profile" drop-down button to choose the formats you need, then click "Browse" button to choose destination folder for saving output files.

Tip1: It provides abundant profiles sorted by various popular devices, especially all-around HD video formats are supported.
Tip2: Many options for you to choose. The "Recent" option will record your recent using automatically and it is convenient to be used afterward.
Tip3: Click "Snapshot" button on main interface to take a snapshot when playing the video and save them as common picture formats like BMP.
Step 3: Convert
After choosing the format, you only need to click "Convert" button on the toolbar to complete the task.

What? Please tell me you're not suggesting the quality of standard youtube videos is 'good'?

hd is my doom, since watched a blur ray movie (FFVIIAD COMPLETE) , not rip not mkv, a true BD disc, just can't turn back on less quality video...
and back to topic, i'm not sure about which converter is the best, so many app around there, but i think any of then allow to covert psp full size not upscale, must be good, i'm also testing some right now.

native resolution of the PSP is 480x272. That means that no matter how you encode, you'll never be able to push anywhere near even 780i, let alone full 1080p. You can, however, make it look damn good - I use PSP video 9 and convert at the highest settings - Not the best UI out there and not the fastest, but on a screen that small full 480x272 looks damn fine, much better than say 480i on a 30" screen...

...Yes, I'm quite far behind the times - If I want to watch a high-res movie, I do it on my laptop.
