Hi, I have a virus and was wondering if anyone could help me, or if anyone knows how to use Hijackthis and read the logfiles? Thanks.

Yes, I have Norton Antivirus/Internet Security/AntiSpam. That is saying my virus stuff is critical and also my Aim 6.0,MSN, and Yahoo IM arent working, but my old aim works for some reason..

shit i think i know what virus your taling about, that virus ****ed up my antivirus aim and everything the only way i got rid of it was throught a system restore,

norton sucks btw its a resource whore and ive seen freeware antivirus do better than it

try starting your computer up in safe mode and try getting rid of the virus that way

thats why its a last resort, if you format your harddrive everything will be gone including all your stuff and the virus and your os, you would have to reinstal the os

you could always back up your stuff in an external harddrive, but scan all your shit before you put it on the external hardrive,

what id do is buy an external harddrive backup your stuff and make sure its virus free, format your harddrive and reinstall windows, put your stuff back in the fresh hrddrive, then return the external harddrive

AVG is great. anyway, what virus do you have? try trendmicro online scanner, it is EXCELLENT, by far beats norton.
