ya , mine cam in the mail today. Its badass. I never owned one back in the day. It's playing those "back-ups" right out of the box. Ya any dreamcast can play cd-r. if you have a version 1 there is no need for a boot cd. If you have a version 2, which is rare, you need a boot cd that can be easily found on the net. There are also homebrew apps for dreamcast. It can emulate a lot of systems.

    NES
    SNES
    GENESIS
    SATURN
    GB
    PSX
    ATARI

    dreamcast rocks.

I used to have a Dreamcast when they first came out. It was noisy, but awesome. I ended up giving mine to a friend who didn't have a lot of money but wanted a gaming console.
I ended up buying one a few months back on eBay and a whole bunch of Japanese games, US games and accessories. I even got a Saturn at the same time. So, it's some SEGA goodness.

I highly suggest the dreamcast. You can get them for less than $40 shipped on EBAY. You don't really need any games. the underground community for DC is pretty supportive.

ya this is awesome. Total resident evil rip-off but your Bruce Campbell so the fact that its a rip off does not matter. you get to go around picking shrooms and finding moonshine while fighting the undead. go DC!

Do you know if it can emu turbo-duo or pc engine?

Dreamcast is the second best system ever, but that is mainly because I am into one-on-one fighters.

    Here are some recomendatons:

    Marvel vs Capcom 2
    Maken X
    D2
    Virtua Tennis
    Skies of Arcadia
    Last Blade 2
(and if the servers come back up)Phantasy Star Online

    June 2005 - PSP homebrewed
    August 2006 - DS homebrewed

Embrace diversity.....play both handhelds the way they weren't meant to be played!

I think it could be ported to dreamcast if it is not already. I have been up on some paperboy on the big screen. World of difference from the PSP screen.
I have hardly played DC games I have been all up on the emulators.

It emulates PSX which is just badass. Even though I have a psone, its still cool. I really want Ducati World Championship for DC but its a rare one to find seeded. I got a program to put the DC on my network via this cable I have to make. Then I should be able to boot games of a PC on my network. Thats super rad. Luckily I have a PC on my network for tasks of this sort. I swear one day I will jumpstart a homebrew scene with apps for the Mac. It's always suspected eveyone has a PC.

I also cannot find anyhting on this. But I took it apart and compared the laser to a DVD laser I have sitting around, they could swap easily. I just need the means of flashing support for it, or making a selfboot cd that supports it to read a DVD. That would be a lot better seeing as sega thought they were slick with the GD-ROM format that means you have to filter out music an uneccessary crap to fit on a cd-r. similar to slimming down psx/psp isos. DVD support would rock.

old to you. I never had a dreamcast back in the day. I saved money from my crappy highschool job when they came out but they vanished as quickly as they appeared, so I got a ps2 instead.

What is funny is that the media was all over it when it came out. 9/9/99...one of the biggest days in gaming history...or so they said. (The release of the Dreamcast).

Then when it was discontinued and deemed a failure...the media came out saying that is was bad from the start...the same people that said that 9/9/99 was so huge. Hmmm...a little wishy washy there....
