i might be buying a mobile pc... possible a dell axiom or a HP iPaq, and im wondering if the windows mobile OS supports programs i need such as firefox, aim, and winamp to name a few. im interested in getting something that i can use to check email, forums, listen to music, view movies, look at pictures, and maybe play some flash games, both at home and on the go. the psp is great, but its sucks when it comes to being a serious mobile computer, so i need something more. i dont wanna spend more then 400$ for a good mobile pc and a large memory card, so some input would be nice

there is no small pda/pc that you can fit in your pocket that will run the actual AIM program and winamp. not in the US anyways. i assume there is something in japan or at the HP headquarters that does that. but any PDA i've ever used, like the Q and other mobile/wifi pda's that have wifi, you cant run an AIM program. but i dont know why you need the program itself, you can just download a crappy version from your service provider. but ya, no winamp.

    Julie,

I have a XV6700 made by UTStarcom on Verizon's service. Has WM5. It's not a bad PDA. Much smaller than a PSP and basically has most full PC functionality. Slows down a bit if you don't registry hack it but i'm satisfied with it. I run all types of apps on it. It ran me about $250, but I had the new every two year thing which took $100 off then Verizon owed me another $100 so there you have it. It runs around $400 Orig. price. If I were you though, check out PhoneScoop.com. At least you can get a better look at what is currently out there and whats in the works. WM6 has been released so you may want to look into any PDAs that have that OS installed.

Oh, and I have AIM on my PDA. It's a shit version but, it's AIM none the least. WINAMP I haven't seen though if you have Nero 7 Ultra and you connect the PDA to you PC, it will try to install Nero Portable on the PDA. It's not a bad media player.
