I just wanted to start a little conversation on the quality of
the superMODS and MODs on PSPMOD. What is your thoughts
on the overall way they treat people, quality of help provided,
and overall atmosphere they provide to the members, guests,
and just plain people who pass by and read up on a topic.

How do you think they view our forum leaders,
and how do you view them?

    NOTE:
Try to be honest in a way this thread
wont end up closed. You all know what I mean.

    My thoughts are as follows...

I think the way people are treated on this forum is horrid.
If I was a passing person, looking to see if I wanted to join
and actually read through what people do and say to others
I'd be SICK, and am as a member.
Also, its not just MODs its members also...

The POINT of this forum is provide help to the world of PSP
users in need. Everyone was new once and people need to learn
how to control there attitudes. Because Im sure if you were on post #1,
you wouldnt want your face smashed in by like 12 people...

If your nicer trying to teach others the importance of,
using the search, and reading the rules,
people would be more inclined to try to do better.
Learn how to be more civil everyone.
Thats the main problem on PSPMOD...

Yeah "rules" are important to you concerning "searching"
and "double posting" but this isnt a government corporation,
this is an online, PSP forum...

    oy either debate or not

i think they do a fine job of modding the place
a little short at times with ppl but then again there is alot of n00b action here

leaders are excellent fair and firm and well versed in PSP modding

    Its ok.
    Completely understandable.

    As for the topic...
Quantity of posts doesn't necessarily make quality.
Think about the actual help provided.
Is it good enough to have that high of a rank?

There will be alot of "n00b" action in any forum you go anywhere.
So why cant the "leaders" of this forum learn to keep it in their
pants and deal with it on a reasonable manner?

    You say they are great...
But on what terms made you decide this?

    Go in depth.
    Have they helped you?
Has any of them treated you poorly in times of need?

Or, are they all simply good as gold?

Id have to say I agree.
    And its disappointing...

I wonder if theres anything that can be done
    to fix it?

I mean we cant slap their faces and make them wake up
to see the reality of being civil...

Because people tell them all the time.
The same things over and over...

But they continue to bash people.
And I just dont think thats the way to
    go about "helping" people...

I say the admins implement a monthly or semi annual mod review thread, were people talk about the mods DRIECTLY, i.e after identifying which mod they are commenting on, and implement a poll to rate teh mods from a scale of 1 to 10. and that any lower than 5 the mod would go on a probation period until the next mod review thread and if he fails to raise his score, an actio is to be taken such as demoting him/her.

    I really love that idea...
What better way to keep the forum on a good note.

I say we take the idea to an Admin...
Then again who'd say they would see our point of view
    and not the MODs...

They could be loving what they are doing...
But no better way to find out then to try.

i agree also outsider that would help us in getting only the mods that do good work on here.
i wasn't meaning that post count means anything also just that Julie posts(active in other words i guess) a lot and sometimes random junk like the beginner.
in drizzles terms he lurks which is good for the forum.

Some are a bit on the mean side, but that's a usual with (some) forums. They just need to have more patience for the newbs.

no they don't maybe for people who know what they are talking about but many people come in here without looking around at all like what they ask has a extensive thread already made.
that is part of a mods job make sure people follow rules. i'm sure one of the rules was to search before asking or close

They should at least kindly direct them to the search button with a link or to the rules so they will follow them in the future.
Most new people to the interwebs don't know alot about forums and the like. That is a large portion of the noobs coming in, so they don't know to read the rules or what the search function is.

As for me, I always read forum rules and stickies when I sign up for a new forum, just comes natural. When I was first an interweb noob I didn't know what the 'Search' function was or what 'Stickies' were.

I also think that it would be nice if the mods had a different color name so we can tell the difference, like most forums do.

I also disagree with the double posting rule, I see nothing wrong with double posting.

EDIT: I won't vote for the poll because there isn't an option I'd choose. They're not bad, but they're not that great. So my vote goes to 'Average'.

    As for rules.

    Who reads "rules?"
    I sure as Hell didn't,
and I haven't ****ed up yet.

I think it takes some common sense on
    the double posting thing...
In reference to my coldboot thread...

    Where someone triple posted...
I mean... the "edit" is, clear as day...

And its shitty when people get banned for it.
But... other then that the whole question thing.
WHO the hell wants to search a whole forum trying to
find the answer to a question they need pronto.

I wouldnt waste my time. Call me "****ing idot"
    Call me "stupid n00b" whatever.

This is a forum and not anyone searches for shit.
HENCE all the questions asked day after day,
that apparently have already been asked.

AMEN!! Agreed and couldnt agree more.
Its logical to be kind if your in high power
to someone so new and not as high ranked.

Its like beating the hell out of a baby for touching
    the stove while its on...

When you know the same shit is happening in your neighbors house
does that give you the right to kill your kid because ITS SO LOGIC
to know rules of whats right and wrong? No!

People need to treat n00bs as babys.
And I dont mean that in a bad way...
    Im just saying.
