Bluray vs. HD-DVD who will be the winner?

Personally I have both type of players (PS3 and an XBox w/ HD-DVD Drive) personally from my experience Bluray is superior as its picture clarity is much better, all the color tones are very bright and appropriate looking. With the HD-DVD Drive the quality is somewhat mediocre but still good. Some color tones seem to smear and are blurry but other then that its quite nice. Although we can't just say HD-DVD is the worse it could be because Of the HD-DVD Drive which I have read in reviews is not as good as the PS3's Bluray drive. Well thats my take on it...what do you guys think? Who will won the format war? Feel free to talk about future titles that may sway the war, Spiderman 3 anybody considering its a Sony owned company it'll be interesting to see how they or if they will release the movie on Bluray exclusively.

motherf*cking laser disc, thats who wins the format war.

I would like to see someone make a homebrew console out of a laser disc player that utilizes the format to emulate some older system. NES on LD yo, wheres it @?

Forgot the name but theres a new type of Disc thats uses both the red and blue lasers used in HD-DVD and Blurays respectively. It could carry up to a monster 100GB!! And 200 on Dual Layer. Who knows maybe that could be the winner of the format war, although there aren't too many companies supporting it, but thats when I read about it several months ago.

blue ray is better; cost a lot more money because its = 'better' etc. But the prices are going down lately so we'll be able to get them for some reasonable price sometime soon or in the near future.

Either is fine with me to win. I still live in standard def....so that means they can compete all they want and I don't care. All they are doing is driving the prices for me even lower.....

    August 2006 - DS homebrewed

Embrace diversity.....play both handhelds the way they weren't meant to be played!

Hd-Dvd's and blu-ray both use the blue laser.

Red lazers are only for dvd's and Cd's.

    Hd Dvd
    Single layer: 15 Gig
    double layer: 30 gigs

    Blu-ray
    Single layer: 25 gigs
    Double layer 50 gigs
    (not officially announced)
    Quad layer: 100 gigs

Personally, im a fan of the blu-ray format... and it seems to be the winning one.

From what I understand, the HD-DVD will win since the Adult film industry is going over to them. Same happened with Beta vs. vhs. Just a rumor I herd

Where they both on the same kind of TV and playing the exact same movies? Because I have noticed that animation in High Def is amazing, and I have only seen it on a Blue Ray copy of Ice age 2. Ever since I have been keeping my eye open for a good cartoon in HD-DVD( Xbox360).

Yes they do, the PS3 itself is a great bluray player (and cheapest I believe, but don't quote me on that). But there are also other stand alone bluray players. Search Amazon and you'll find one.
