05-18-2007, 08:06 PM i just got the latest issue of Game Informer and saw that Call of Duty 4 made the cover. awesome, another COD game. i opened the magazine and saw that its subtitled "Modern Warfare". uh oh... looks like the WW2 theme is over. not that im complaining since the series needs a serious change. battles in modern times will be just as intense as the ones back in the 40s. i think it looks really cool... almost like Black Hawn Down. any thoughts?
05-18-2007, 08:15 PM i just recieved this issue, didnt read it yet, but modern warfare? might be interesting, ive almost considered socom something similar, but maybe a new vietnam game/even gulf war/war on terrorism might be interesting to play, although it may be too soon for some
05-18-2007, 08:16 PM Haven't got the latest GI yet but World War combat genre has been abused to death, its gotten really repetative. Its gonna be great to see a new atmosphere. But I'm pretty sure the scripted events will be the bright spot in this game as they were in the previous installments. Until I see some gameplay screenshots and info I have nothing more to say.

05-19-2007, 10:09 PM i just got the magg too. looks great. finally something besides WW2. havnt read it yet. i hope its sorta like BF2 but wayy better. the graphics look crazzzzzzy.
05-19-2007, 10:31 PM looks like its middle eastern warfare, so it could take place anywhere from the early 90s to present day. im not really sure when we first got involved in middle eastern conflicts so i cant base it off the weapons. the new COD game looks like it uses modern (5yr old weapons and newer) guns in the levels.
COD's attention to detail is what is gonna annoy me about the game. it appears that they set the game in a fictional country, which is unlike COD's usual standards since they usually follow historical battles. it wont be any less then amazing, but i still have a problem with making up stories in a COD title
05-20-2007, 01:47 AM I got that issue a few days ago and thought the game looked great...ive been hoping for a new war game besides the beaten old WWII horse. (also HIGHLY interested by the Splinter Cell article too)
