just curious if anyone else out there loves alternative music as much as me. and if so what are some of your favorite bands?

i'm a huge Erasure fan, third eye blind, bare naked ladies, Depeche Mode, New World Order, Ah-Ha.

i like alot of the one-hit wonders from the 80's like when in rome-the promise, Ah-Ha - take on me, New World Order-Bizarre Love Triangle. i cant ever seem to get enough of these classics.

the strokes, Billy Talent, Arcade Fire, Gorillaz, Dashboard Confessional, Ten Second Epic, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday, Coldplay, The Offspring, Nirvana... lots.

Also, depends on what you call "Alternative". People will prolly tell me that some of the bands I just listed were Inde. To me it's all the same.

i'm picky as hell, i tend to stick with mostly stuff from the 80's and 90's. cant stand much recent stuff, i just love the 80's sound lol. uh, would postal service/death cab for cutie be considered alternative?

    They'd be considered alt.

I never much liked Death cab, but postal service's album was decent. I like the guys voice ;0. The rest of Death cab was too bland

postal service died, i think death cab took their singer or sumthing like that. some of their stuff sounds similar, and yeah postal service was way better than death cab IMO.

other way around..kinda. Ben Gibberd was the singer for Death Cab, but Gibberd and some other guy worked together for Postal Service.

I don't think Postal Service is going to make another CD, while Death Cab will.

snatched a couple songs from the strokes, pretty good so far. i'm dling and sampling a bit of most of the bands everyone here has named, trying to widen my alternative music horizons heh. i could easily illegally download all of these bands but i think i'm gonna actually go hunt down a few radiohead cds. any suggestions on which cd to get?

I've never heard of Neutral Mild Hotel but pretty much everything else is kick ass to me. Put some Death Cab, Mason Jennings, Ray LaMontagne and Beck in there and you have my mostly played list.

Coldplay, Depeche Mode, The Caesars, is U2 considered alternative? If so that as well. And plenty more just can't think of them all on the top of my head.
