    how come sony hates custom firmware so much? are they jealous? or they dont like ppl hacking into their products?

    Because piracy. You can run ISO's.

    Pretty much what he said also if they left the psp's open there could be potential for someone hijacking your system and ruin it. (Thats what i think anyways might be wrong...)

    They have to keep a certain amount of security on it to keep just anyone from destroying alot of people's psp's. They also need to make sure there is no piracy taking place. Its very difficult to open up a system to homebrew and still have both of those qualities.

    Bricking is 90% caused by incompetence, 10% bad luck. Sony doesn't try to cause bricking, just prevent modifications to their firmware.

    so you mean its illegal to mod your psp i mean you are messing with THEIR product.

    They really don't give a rats ass about homebrewing and downgrading. They have to in force the patch's to limit piracy so that not every person can do it. I know many Sony rep's I've worked with have their psp's modded and will actually do it for you if you ask them. We are all people trying to have some fun with the psp.
