so i am sitting there and i get a txt from my sister saying she got my mom a DS for x-mas. I asked her why and she said because my mom is always talking about technology so why not get her a DS with brain age. my sister then asked me what i thought about the idea and i said, it sounds thoughtful... but now that i think about it, my mom might not even play it so i may just take it off her hands even though i am getting a psp too

the DS is more of a family related game. Much better wireless for the family, portable with brain age, mario kart, mario party, warioware touch, those kinds of games which require a good 3-4 amount of people.

you never know your mom might really like it. i sell a lot of consoles and games and i've had people buy them for moms and even grandfathers! (the mom wanted to play dr. mario on the nes.) my dad used to play the genesis w/ us when we got it and he still plays computer games. so you never know.

Around christmas time though a lot of stuff is hard to come by espically anything nintendo since parents feel that their child must have whatever during christmas. So, I'm surprised your sister was actually able to get a ds.

Yeah, what I want to see are parents that buy their son an XBOX 360 with Grand Theft Auto IV, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, and all those other bloody, cursing, rated M games instead of happy italian people jumping on to mushrooms and walking turtles when both are still very addicting.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

yeah i was kinda surprised too, but there are some games that are fun on DS such as mario kart and metroid prime is okay. but i will just wait and see what my mom does with it. if i do end up getting it, i will have twice the fun with wireless play using my psp and ds

parents or older couples (50+) that have kids or grandkids who have wii's have waited 4 hours in the freezing cold outside the best buy i work at, just to buy a wii for themselves. Can't judge a book by its cover

the best buy i work at, had about 10 DS's everyday till the 18th when we finally sold out. Wii wise, we got more than 500 wiis at our best buy alone this december. It just depends on where you look vs when you look. Our store was packed all day today, with people who just STARTED their effin christmas shopping. If you started shopping a week ago at minimum youd easily have a DS.
