i want to make a new partition on my 200 gig HDD, im in disc management, but i cant find how, anyone can lend me a hand?

disk management in xp is a piece of crap (vista's a little better, but still crap). Use partition magic or a gparted boot disc, they're much more powerful and intuitive.
under administrative tools select computer management
then select storage, then disk management (local)
then USE IT
realize if you resize a partition already in use you'll loose all your data unless you use partition magic or something similar (there are open source FREE programs)
One suggestion:
For the love of all that is good, defrag your drive before partitioning (unless it's new, formatted, or just has nothing on it.) A friend of mine lost a lot of data because she partitioned a drive with data scattered all over it. (Why she didn't back it up or ask someone with experience to help her, I don't know, but I sure got an ear full of whining for her mistake anyway.) And yeah, use one of the other partitioners. XP's sucks.
o yea guys i found a partitioning software (norton's) worked like a charm. but thx guys
