    Hi all. I'm hoping someone can provide me some help with this matter. My wife and I are co-authoring a series of fantasy fiction novels, and I am interested in creating a digital world map. I have excess to photoshop and indesign. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks guys!
    You got fleeced. I would have settled for a hard roll with ketchup inside.

    Easiest way to do it and least effort is to just find a bunch of maps and lay them down in duplicate 3D layers and fill in the necessary spots. For a 3D model I use the 3D maker on my windows 98 with the helicopter and just work from the mountains in the background but that's an outdated technique. That's what I do for my graphic art assignments and they turn out fine.

    Thank you for the response, but that was a little too technical for me. I'm not looking to do anything 3D. I just want to draw up a 2D map. But in all seriousness, Switchblades, could you PM me something of what you've done just so I can see what it would look like in 3D?

    Thanks.

    Just google "Map Generator" or "World Map Generator"- There are a ton of them.

    @Dr. Zoidberg

    lol, sorry about that. I'll try to tone it down. If you have a Windows 95 OS laying around, you should normally have a program installed called "Helicopter 3D testing". The background images are transformable and you can copy, past, edit, shade, morph them into almost any image you want with a program like protel painter x or by using a c++ program. I personally use encoded c++ programs but that's just me.

    Edit: I forgot, I always use 3ds max 9 for my coding.
