    Ok my computer lags when i play starcraft online.
    Q:I dont ave a router for my computer, If i get one will it help my connection in anyway?
    Q:Will this make my connection in any way?
    Q:Can anyone help me out?

    Some more Info: I have Dsl and it still lags on Starcraft, or Warcraft or something. I dont already have a router. I have a Dsl modem. O yeah i have the $24 a month Dsl. I have a ok 256mb video card, my computer is an HP that cost me around $600 w/o moniter, its okay.

    1) The game only lags online or does it lag when you play single player as well?
    2) Could be the people you play with that lag, try playing a 1v1comp on battlenet and see if it still lags.
    3) A router will not speed up your connection. A router will allow you to split the connection to multiple machines but not affect the band width coming in.
    4) Starcraft has a very poor packet routing architecture. You can not play in the same game on the same connection with more then one person. If you have 2 or more players playing from your house in the same game, one of you will lag out because starcraft does not support internal IPs (only the IP address of your modem recieves packets and then gets confused as to which computer they belong to... this can be fixed by running a linux box as your router and running a packet sniffer that can better determine where the packets should be routed to, there is a free ware program that does this)

    it does does just fine 1v1 but wen it is 8 players lag

    wow, um, mind posting some specs about your comp, i mean, if your comp can turn on it can run starcraft, poor ethernet mayb. any other games do this, or just SC?

    ^^^here is a link. No im not into the whole computer thing, but i do enjoy to play Starcraft wen i have time at night ortill 4am or something. I mean i like to play but it lags and its annoying.

    I thought that computer was pretty good, and the saleperson told me its fast. Im hoping he didnt bullshit me .
