take melatonin. its a drug your body produces naturally during the night to make you sleep and in the morning it produces serotonin. so turn off all the lights in your room and close your eyes. or take something like simply sleep and do the same.

I have chronic insomnia, and sometimes suffer from sleep paralysis. So I have tried a lot of things and these steps help me a lot:

Try to keep lights dimmed about an hour before you sleep so you get used to it. And while it's hard for all of us nerds try and stay away from TVs, computers PSPs, and other bright lighted objects.

Take a melatonin supplement. But not too often. If you take them too often, your body will not only get used to it, but it will then have a hard time producing natural melatonin, making it even harder to sleep. I take 3MG pill every other night, then take a week break personally.

Try and do some exercise early in the day, but not within a few hours of sleep. And it's also good to eat regular and healthy.

If it gets really bad, take a real hot shower, then toward the end of it, turn it slowly cold. It works. It also helps to have your bed sheets nice and cool. I have even put mine in the freezer for a while. it helps me a lot.

As far as food, i personally eat something before I go to bed. Something with carbs. i don't know why, but it helps me. bread, an apple, etc but nothing too big.

I think it should be obvious to avoid caffeine and sugar before you sleep

Stretch out and massage your body (not in a sick way) to relax your muscles, too.

There are many things that can be done, but I suggest you try a few out and see what works for you. Some people say just to get in a routine, it's too hard for me personally. My sleeping in sporadic no matter how hard I try, but I'm sure everyone is different.

    I hope this helps!!

BEAT OFF!!! it tires you out, or if you dont like beating off have some good old fun, and take part in a round of bed wrestling with your gf or the girl next door. and when i say this i am not kidding, the work your body goes thru makes you feel tired in the end and then you will want to fall asleep!!

    ur welcome!!

Another thing that you could do is get onto PSPmod.com
and view and attempt to read a lot of the threads that have been repeated 900million times by people that don't use the search bar.
Guaranteed that will put you to sleep faster than watching Dr. Phil.

I have sleep paralysis too. I even know what it is but when I wake up it still scares the shit out of me.

I usually watch TV and sleep, my eyelids get heavy and I keep trying to stay awake.

If you just try to sleep, you won't be able to sleep. You try to stay awake, you'll get tired.

Sleep paralysis is where, to put it in simple terms, you wake up before your body is ready to wake up. So you are mostly conscious, sometimes completely. BUT! You can't move any part of your body. When it happens to me it takes all my mind effort to move my eye lids. it sucks and it's scary. I used to be scared and would not go to sleep until after I get out of the paralysis, because it literally felt like I was dying. But now I know better and sometimes just give in and fall asleep again, but it's still hard.
