I already am educated in the subject so I don't really need to watch the vid. If i am correct, you are talking about how the government cannot charge the people direct tax, for example like tea and the confrontation of the Boston tea party. Yet we have to pay income tax which is a direct tax.

meh i always get 800 or so bucks back on my income tax return,so way i look at it.im not losing anything,but instead get money when i need it most

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the amendment say somewhere that the government cannot collect direct tax from the people. Yet income tax is a direct tax so doesn't that make it optional although it is punishable by law. Many people save thousands of dollars due to tax evasion but people believe that this topic is a conspiracy and what not.

I believe the government always had tax laws, but the state government would not allow direct taxes, but then the 16th amendment came in.

I'll ask tomorrow in my history class.

I think tax is good. Tax pays for street lighting, schools, street maintenance.

If you didnt have Tax there'd be rats everywhere, poor streets, no street lighting, no public areas etc... and no mainstream education...

Thats true because thats what are income tax pays for but the conspiracy of it all that the government also makes mad money out of it.

So what exactly does the phrase "America has a capitalist government" mean to all of you? of course theyre gonna make money out of it.

Although i agree they should maybe relax taxes a bit due to the credit crunch.
