I'm sure this topic has been done many a time, but it really depends on what you want it for.

If all you generally do is browse the web, run a few standard apps, listen to a bit of music etc, then a PC is what you want.

If however you want to do intense audio video encoding/processing/editing, graphic design work, CAD, and other things like that, a Mac is better suited.

The problem is these days a Mac has become an expensive fashion icon, so people buy them when they really don't need them, and when you ask them why the bought a mac, they usually say because it looks good.

A PC is much better for the average user. Much more support for it and it's not like it's a horrible thing! Plus you can obtain/build a decent one for an affordable price.

I voted Other. Why not have the best of both worlds and dual-boot Leopard and XP on a pc? Resigning oneself to one OS severley limits ones productivity.
    Very funny....not.

It's easier to do graphic design / audio on a mac because you have to pay for expensive ass native programs. Sure I wont lie and say you could do it easier in windows. But windows, not matter what anyone says, will and can do anything a mac can do. As simple as that. There's too many users on it, and more then enough 3rd party programs to do whatever you want. The reason [like I already stated] why it's easier on a Mac because those programs were specifically made for Mac and made by the people who make the OS/Computer, if it didn't work then wtf!!

But Mac is a fad. If you like a Mac because of it, good, but don't get a Mac because of the whole new iTrend.
