Usually, you want to try and read the negative reviews.

Sometimes, sites will usually post their own reviews on other sites so people get the idea that "Oh wow, this is a really good product!"

What I try to do is, if you have a product or site and are unsure of the quality, try using google and typing words like scam and fake. Usually, you'll find a bad review somewhere, regardless of the site. You can tell by the type of problems people have and the amount of problems whether or not a site or product is good.

    Just my 2 cents.

I personally recommend the CycloDS and M3 DS Real. Both work with the DS Lite, don't know about the Phat, but I am pretty sure they would be fine. They are the top 2 best cards out there IMO.

Personally, I think the extra money for the M3 DS Real or CycloDS cards is money well spent. To each his own...

It's only a one-time expense. And both have perfect compatibility with all the homebrew - something you can't say for most of the others. Also, both of those are full featured cards and have cheats and real-time-save. In fact, I believe that the M3 Real has RTS for GBA games also (make sure you get the "Perfect" bundle).

The CycloDS has a time that is actively developing for it. Just not too long ago they added a book-reader feature that is supposed to allow you to toggle between the game and a text file (thing of following a walkthrough). Personally, I prefer my Cyclo to my M3 because the menus scroll much faster. With the Cyclo you need to get the 3-in-1 expansion if you wish to play GBA (you have to get this for any card for GBA except for the M3 Real w/ the Perfect bundle).

The EZ Flash V is supposed to be one of the better 2nd tier cards (Cyclo and M3 and top tier), but without personal experience, I can't say for sure.

Flash Carts - Mod Central Ltd.
I've ordered from them and they've always been good.

They have the M3 DS Real Perfect Bundle for $49.95.
The CycloDS is $46.95 and the 3-in-1 expansion (for GBA) is $29.95. Ouch!
They also carry flashcart + RAM packages, but IMO you are better off getting a nice Class 6 8GB card through NewEgg.

The only real advantage that you have there with the Cyclo package is GBA and rumble support in a single cartridge. The M3 Real Perfect has 2 expansions - one for GBA, the other for rumble.
