    Okay guys, I need majour help here. I am trying to install my Star Wars Jedi Knight game, and I had it on my computer before and it playd fine, but I since removed it. Anyway the game gets up to 90% installed and it stops reading the disk, and I can hear it for like 30 seconds then this pops up;

    Component: Game
    File Group: Game Files
    File: E:\GameData\GameData\base\assets0.pk3
    Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

    For the love of god, please let this be fixable, I lent the game out and only got it back today...I miss it.

    Well, in some instances, this can mean the disc is damaged, but what I would do first is upgrade the firmware on your CD Drive

    Yep, just give the disk a little cleaning, it should go. Otherwise, it's truly damaged, and seeing as how you lent it out, it's apparantly their fault it's scratched. It's skull Bashin time...

    yeah a simple upgrade of firmware for your cd drive should fix it......I was getting that cyclic redundancy error before and the firmware upgrade fixed it

    yeah, the disc might be permanently damaged, but hopefully it isn't. in the case that it is, i have a quick fix:
    first, find the largest, or most painful pair of shoes/boots possible, then firmly jam it into the person who borrowed it's anus.
    this wont necisarily make the game work, but it will make you feel a hell of a lot better.
    trust me on this one.
