05-07-2009, 04:50 PM Hey, i just installed vista and when i started it it said hal.dll, /windows/system32/hall.dll is corrput or missing.
so anyone with vista, maybe home prem, can you please upload the file?
the directory is:
c:/windows/system32/hal.dll
where c is your vista partition.

05-08-2009, 02:14 AM if you have the disc for the system, you can just use the recovery console in dos and repair it with the disc...
how'd you manage to fuck up your hal.dll anyway.. rofl.

I had this prob like 2 weeks ago, I had a spare partition and installed xp striaght to it, no windows boot manager or anything and I have vista home premium too, I knew what the prob was after some research, the pc geek shop guy said it was a virus, but it wasn't. I laughed pretty hard after that

i sorted it out now. i had used vlite to get rid of stuff from the install but i burned another disk straight from the original file. done.
