I'm sure this thread is already done, but i can't find it. What is your current setup? I just built my own new PC last week, which i'm pretty happy with it:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz - £122.99
    Asus P5KPL-AM iG31 Motherboard - £32.99
Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case With CM eXtreme Power 460W PSU £59.99
Western Digital 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Caviar Blue HDD £38.99
    Crucial 4GB DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Ballistix Memory CL4 2.0V RAM £32.99
Sapphire ATI HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 HDMI DVI VGA PCI-E Graphics Card £78.56
    Acer P193w 19" Widescreen DVI Monitor £84

All for £450. I'm running the 64-Bit version of Windows 7 RC1 which is very nice, and have the retail version pre-ordered. With this i can now play FullHD videos with ease, most if not all of the current high end PC games, and even better the PS2 PC emulator runs on it! Just ripped my copy of FFX and it's running 95% perfectly!

I'm not sure if that's serious or sarcasm, so I'll take it like a serious question.
    Yep, MacBook Pro.

Wouldn't surprise me, Macs are scandalously overpriced.

Sadly, while true, is also an understatement. My laptop which is incredibly similar to a 17" MBP costs around $1200 less. That is a lot of fucking money. Complete waste of money I say.

    Yep. $2500.
I agree that it's a fuck ton of money, but I'm going to school to be a graphic designer, and macs the way to go for that.
And the majority of the class programs are designed for macs.

I don't mind because I love mine, and I didn't pay for it.
