If you're using a router, you'll probably need to forward your port.

Maybe your ISP is throttling you. Try this test: Is My ISP Throttling BitTorrent? Test Your Connection Online

Thats annoying for an ISP to tell you what to do with service you pay for, mine said the same thing, there should be a way to encrypt your downloads...

Yup, Verizon for me as well. Although I switched to Vonage for my phone service a while ago. VOIP FTW!

First of all, stop using BitComet. It's a very ineffiant torrent client. Get uTorrent.

Now onto your problem, it will be a port forwarding issue, however it sounds like you've forwarded a port, and either you have a dynamic IP address, or your torrent client was using a random port each time it loaded.

    So:

    1. Get uTorrent.
    2. Look up how to set up a static IP address.
    3. Forward a port in your router for the Static IP address you set up.
    4. Set that as your port in uTorrent, making your it doesn't randomly change.
    5. Use this - Port Checker - ĀµTorrent - a (very) tiny BitTorrent client to check your port is open, changing to the 21295 in the URL to the port you're using.
