I want to upgrade the PC that an old lady gave me. It is running Windows 98 Second Edition (A.K.A. SE), has nothing in the front but a CD-R drive (can't write) and a floppy drive, has 2 USB 1.1 Units in the back of the tower, and apperantly 3 PCI Expansion slot/port thingys and 2 Phone Line ports on the back also. If there is some way you can help me out by knowing this, it is a Compaq Presario 5304. It has a shitty 2 Gig hard drive, 60 MB of RAM (OMFG is what i said when i say that). When i looked it up in DirectX 8.1 Diagnostics Tool part of what it said was:
    Proccesor:Cyrix 6x86MX,MMX,~16MHz
    Memory:60.0MB RAM

You see, the processor is flat out TERRIBLE, probably because this computer is a "INTERNET PC" so i can understand why it is soooo crappy. i don't know what the video card is. I have been looking up some things that i think matter the most in my opinion. Could some experienced people correct me? I know, it is horendously old!

And i might spend some on this sound card http://www.compusa.com/products/prod..._SE_Sound_Card

The reason i wanted this thing was so that i could go on the web and manage my PSP files whenever, but like i said the USB port is 1.1, not 2.0 like my USB cord is so when i plugged in my PSPs USB cord it said it was not recognized. Would updating drivers be something to fix that problem? And my mom is a baby when it comes to drilling through walls, even when my PC is exactly directly above my modem and router. So is it possible to get a Wireless adapter for this? The router ive got is a linksys WRT54G and it is in mixed mode. How can i change my PC to have a 2.0 port? So that i can hook up my PSP to it.
THIS thing is CRAZY! Hope it don't get stuck!

u cant drop a new cpu into a old rig like that. this might be one of the cases where its just better to buy a brand new pc.

If your into gaming, i suggest an alienware. Plus, most computer companies overprice their products, so go to somewhere like PCfarm and get a custom if you know what you want.

yeah, if the new buyer wants to put up with video issues. it freaks out when the laptop starts getting up to a decent operating temp. i ordered a laptop cooler, so hopefully, that will fix it. im gonna order a more established alienware and use my old one as a media comp or something.
