I've been lurking around and I know that some of us are. Mind telling us if you did and for how long? How about why you chose to work there and if you still are.

I did it for almost a year at $5.15/hour for 5 hours a week. If it wasn't for the incentive of discount gaming, I probably would have quit after Chief Wiggum (my boss) left to become a police officer (his name was Ralph). Thank Gods I had a real job on the side.

I worked at Gamestop from October 2004 - April 2006, then left to Gamecrazy and stayed there until September 2008.

I did start at Gamestop at $5.15 as well. Gamecrazy paid much better so I went with them.

I enjoyed it for the most part....except when it was the holidays.

same here. they gave me all the shit work like alphabetizing all the walls, greeting customers but not being able to ring them up. after the first manager left to be a cop, we had a flaky douche manager then we had no manager for a while. then we finally got a 17-yr old kid who was 2nd key (only cause he was bilingual) he used to blow up on customers and i'd have to make his ass calm down. people thought i was the manager....little did they know.

The customers were great (most of them, anyways) and all my co-workers were awesome and fun to hang out with. I loved taking new games home every day and buying games for myself from customers for dirt cheap. I also enjoyed it when we were having a Buy 2 Get One Free sale and no one wanted to get a third game, so I would end up cancelling the transaction after they left and then ringing up the sale again with the free game (MINE!). ;P
Alot of people badmouth GameStop and their supposed under-handed tactics, but I liked it there...

i didn't like the corporate side of it, but i did like my lil crew we had there. how we'd troll customers and rip on people who deserved it. one of my favorite times was when 2 groups of 'thugs' were arguing over who was better at MvC2, so much so that the guy i was working with got tired of it and broke out a copy and put them both to put up or shut up. turns out limp wristed black dudes can work that shit pretty hard.
