RTS games are very fun. StarCraft II is a great game to start. Do it, you won't regret it.

There aren't too many units and buildings so it's fairly quick to learn. To master, is a completely different story, as you'd imagine.

Now get this, in StarCraft there are three races: Terran, Protoss, and Zerg. StarCraft II is going to be a trilogy. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, the one that just came out, tells the story of the Terran. The next game will tell the story of either the Protoss or Zerg, I'm not sure, while the last game will obviously tell the story of the remaining race. This will greatly help you learn each race and by the end of the trilogy, you will no-doubtingly be a much better player.

In multiplayer you can play all three races, so over time while waiting for the next game, you can acquaint yourself with the other races. Bottom line, it's an incredible game and well worth $60. Oh, and there's no online fees like WoW.

chris, pick up the original game box set. you can find it for $15 new anywhere. it has the original game and the expansion which, might seem outdated now, but is the genesis for all modern RTS games. for one of us to wax about the intricacies of the differences of the 3 races would take a whole 'nother forum altogether.

also, just found out that you can play single player offline. still gotta find someplace quiet for me to play tho, as the beasties are still at home.

and i'll agree with KmR, it's worth the $100 price tag. *what? if you're gonna go retard, you gotta go full retard.*

Note that you can buy and download Starcraft straight from Blizzard's Website Store for $15.
