    EA Origin deletes inactive games
Hidden away in the Terms of Service for EA Origin is something that will make no gamer happy.

By agreeing to the ToS for EA Origin, EA's new online shop, the publisher has the right to remove any games that are inactive for 24 months. This means that if you don't play Battlefield 3 for two years and feel like picking it up again, you'll have to re-purchase the game. EA can also remove accounts that are idle for 24 months.

    From the Terms of Service:

Entitlements may only be held in Accounts belonging to legal residents of countries where access to and use of Content and Entitlements is permitted. Entitlements may be purchased or acquired only from EA or an authorized retailer. EA reserves the right to refuse your request(s) to acquire Entitlements, and EA reserves the right to limit or block any request to acquire Entitlements for any reason.

We do not guarantee that any Content or Entitlement will be available at all times or at any given time or that we will continue to offer particular Content or Entitlements for any particular length of time. We reserve the right to change and update Content and Entitlements without notice to you. If you have not used your Entitlements or Account for twenty four (24) months or more and your Account has associated Entitlements, your Entitlements will expire and your Account may be cancelled for non-use. Once you have redeemed your Entitlements, that content is not returnable, exchangeable, or refundable for other Entitlements or for cash, or other goods or services.
Basically if you don't play a game for more than 2 years EA deletes it from your account and you must repurchase it. I really do hate online stores for content, between the DRM and constant login requirements it makes me happy that I buy hardcopy only. Anyway I'm sure they phrased some clever other bits in their TOS, but what can you do.

That's totally fucked up. What's stopping car dealerships or retail stores from applying these same rules?

Why do mods get to just be assholes with no consequences? If I said something like that to someone, I'd probably either get banned or suspended. Ridiculous.

I deleted some unnecessary posts. Cal dude, don't throw indirects around like that, just say what exactly was "inaccurate"

    edit: i almost forgot.

    FUCK CAPITALISM!

EA seems to be growing more and more greedy. This is as evil as Sony cutting ps2 support from the ps3 with an update to then sell remade iso's on PSN. Also Geek, not all online store are that bad, Steam remains selling stuff cheap with constant deals and keeping the fanbase happy, and i bought a Half-life 2 disc, registered it in Steam, and i didn't play till 5 years later when i lost said cd's and Steam let me download all the games that were on those cd's.

When companies get a, as cal said, a retarded fanbase, and get powerful as shit, they'll start pushing their customers around like this. VG's are getting more and more expensive in creative ways recently

I don't hate Steam, but Steam has some things I would fix, however I still enjoy its many deals. Its just that I cannot stand not having physical copy of what I buy.
