People everyday say that the PS3 is for rich people because it is an expensive toy, so I figure what would the PS3 have to do for you to buy it? Let your imagination run wild, just make sure it is appropriate.

I'm looking forward to the PS3. The price itself doesn't bother me.
It's the perfect solution for me. It play's Blu-Ray's DVD's and games.

I dunno man, think about how much it would cost to buy a computer that powerful. Then think about the fact that it supports a mouse and keyboard, and they're going to have yellow dog linux for it. Then think about the fact that yellow dog linux comes with the cell sdk. This means, not only could other linux distros be ported, but homebrew as well!!!!!!!!!!! This thing truly is a fully functioning computer, entertainment center, and game console. Now I think it's worth every penny...

a well built computer would walk circles around the ps3 too, plus it could do actual work in addition to gaming, where as a ps3 is just a gaming machine

ps3 is great, but am taking the Wii first.
its not because of games or anything else, I will still buy both, but the money I could have until then would be enought to buy a Wii... not for a ps3 :|

hopefully the Wii remote will get good distance and dont have to keep it pointed at the Wii console for it to detect the motion...

I would have to agree with this completly...except 1 change. Make it $199.99.

$300 for a game system with no bonuses is still a rip in my book.
