Hey guys, I was wondering if you HAVE to have an HDTV for the 360?? Is the sacrifice in picture quality that bad?? Also, what is SDTV?? I've seen quite a few TV's around that are SD instead of HD. thanx
These are chess moves, not checkers.

I've tried both my ps3 and 360 on an SDtv(standard definitiion 640x480 resolution I think) and it looks terrible when you're use to HDTV. The resolutions vary but a 1080p for example would be 1920x1080 which is much more detail thus makes games and movies look great if they support it. So you dont need one but it is worth it. You can also get vga cables and hook the 360 up to your monitor which should support good resolutions and the 360 supports 1080p through the vga cables and apparently upconverts dvds also.

doesn't it have to be an HD monitor though?
2% of the people on the internet have a sig that bashes 98% of the people on the internet. If you are in the 98% whoaren't bastard F***'s with a superiority complex, copy and paste this into your sig.

92% of teens have moved onto rap. If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your signature

I've got my 360 hooked up to my 19 inch LCD. Make sure though, that it's a widescreen moniter, because it's glitchy if it isn't

if you change the settings on the 360 from Widescreen to Normal format wouldnt that fix the glitchiness.

Nada, it won't fix it. Some games (GOW) have Patches for this, but others (Halo 2) Do not
but hell, you get used to it real fast

Well for me I have had my 360 for almost 2 months. I still haven't even played it until I get the right HDTV... I have been saving and waiting until after christmas for the right deal.

Sure it can be played on a Regular tv.... I just gotta have that HDTV....
