Quit with the personal attacks on each other or I'll lock this thread. Which would be a shame because I am huge basketball fan.

I think Boston will make waves in the playoffs. They still have the midlevel except they can use, as well as the bi-annual exception and they can sign anyone to a veterans minimum contract. Playing along side KG, Ray Allen and Paul Peirce could lure some vertran help. Guys like PJ Brown, Webber, James Posey, Micheal Peitrus, Matt Barnes, etc are still available. Chasing a ring with that trio is very tempting. Boston isn't done with its roster. They have 9 players under contract and are about to sign their 2 rookies. That gives them 4 roster spots. They can pick up a vetran or two and a guy with upside (like Pietrus, but he is restricted) with the money options they have.

Its a long time til the next playoffs, and alot can happen. From the East I could see making a case for any of Detriot, Miami, Cleveland, Boston, Chicago, and to a lesser degree Washington, Orlando, Toronto, New Jersey.

I can't wait for the season to start, although I wish the Mavs would do something... sign a free agent, make a trade, pretty much anything but sit around and wait

at first i thout it was a good trade....but now...
i dont...sure they have an aging KG, pierce, and allen....but they gave up 7 players! many prospects included like gomes and jefferson

they gave up gomes too that for sure makes this a dumb trade they just fucked up there future. And two first round picks wow, i really thought they were a better team with the team they had before with just the ray allen trade.

listen, it's a good trade. KG will fill seats for Boston. That's what's important. Obviously Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, and Sebastian Telfair werent filling the seats. But Boston won't win the East. They all said how unselfish they were at the press conference, but that's the farthest thing from the truth. All of these guys are used to being the go to guy. So what happens when one of them miss a game winning shot? The other two will think that they should have had the ball in their hands. They will not have good chemistry and not do anything spectacular.

As for Minnesota, the trade was worth it. They got rid of a player that could have cost them another $150 mil or lost for nothing. Al Jefferson will be an all-star in the future. I don't think the 1st round picks are gonna transform into anything. This next draft class is pretty weak so far. No Greg Odens or Durants. But it was a trade McHale needed to do to save his team's future. Though i believe in the end that McHale will be fire in 4-5 years.

Detroit is still #1 in the East and that's all that matters to me.

oj mayo is a punk. no gm will be dumb enough to draft him in the first round. he has a serious attitude problem. and when people are saying that detroit being #1 is debateable is a joke. miami isn't even close to #1. they have absolutely no depth what-so-ever. shaq is another year older, and wade is just commin off shoulder surgery. not gonna happen.
