Carl Deuker is my favorite author of all time, I just concluded it after finishing three books by him. The common lifestyle of druggies, drunks, and dreams, if you really are looking for a read, this guy has some amazing sports books.

I was just trying to find a draft of a paper due tomorrow, and I remembered this.
poem.doc
poem.rtf

Same poem, just a different format.
It's three or four poems tied into one big one, the "inspiration" being from three pictures from my childhood.

Never thought I'd say this, but the Sherlock Holmes Facsimile was a great read.

I read the old kingdom series by Garth Nix, so far there's only 3 books "Sabriel", "Lireal" and "Abhorsen". I like his writing style.

Another great author is Eoin Colfer (Pronounce owen, easier then it looks eh?). His most famous series is the Artemis Fowl franchise. He's really good at making up fantasy, magical stuff. Much better then Harry Potter sad to say, at least his ideas are realistic.

I have been reading Tolkkien once again. Recently finished "The Hobbit" and now immersed in LOTR trilogy.
One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest
A Clockwork Orange (mind boggling stuff)
Kafka's Metamorphosis
Crime and Punishment
and other quintessential Leo Tolstoy works
etc

Read Blood Meridian back in May for a school project. It was neat, we got to pick any American Novel written after 1951. So I chose that, it was great.

Currently reading The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas. It's about the holocaust, and it's weird cause its written like a children's book...actually I just got curious, and wikipedia just told me it is a children's book...but I had someone recommend it to me, and they said the way it ends makes it not seem like a kid's book. And also since I just got back from Germany, they said should read it.

Umm, and then I have All The Pretty Horses, Slaughterhouse Five, and Invisible Man to read for summer reading. I'm really pumped to read the first two, but I don't know anything about the last one, I still haven't looked it up or anything, but whatever...I've got to read it..

And then I picked up White Noise, and I've already read the first like 4 chapters (but they're really short like 3-5 pages each), and I love it already, I just had to put it down for summer reading first. But I can't wait to read that either.

Then that list...it just keeps growing. So I've got some reading ahead of me.
Awesome though.

Tomorrow the War began, and the rest of the seris is a really good read.
About a bunch of kids in Australia who go camping, in that time a bunch of terrorist take over a big area of Australia, capturing tons of people. The rest of the series talks about how they survive in the wilderness, and how they lead a sort of guerrilla movement

Okay, so I finished All the Pretty Horses, Slaughterhouse Five, and Invisible Man over the summer.

All the Pretty Horses wasn't too bad. I like McCarthy's style, so it was neat, but I liked Blood Meridian much more.

Invisible Man was boring. I read a lot of African American struggle books in school, and to be honest..I can get a little tired of the same book over and over again.
It was neat cause it had a lot of symbolism in it, and such, but I didn't like it too much.

Slaughterhouse Five, was amazing. This was just awesome. I've added a lot of Vonnegut to my list.

And in school, we read Heart of Darkness and A Farewell to Arms.
Heart of Darkness blew. It was supposed to be great, and it's so highly revered, but I wasn't a fan. Conrad's writing style, while elegant, could get annoying at times, and my biggest problem was how boring the story itself was..
A Farewell to Arms. Another lame novel. But I don't like Hemingway's style too much either. His total lack of adjectives can be neat to read for a bit, but his journalist style get very annoying to read in the length of a novel. It puts you to sleep.

And I got to read White Noise on my own time too. That was also...just awesome. I loved it.

And currently we're reading The Catcher in the Rye in class, which is another novel I love. I've read it twice on my own, and I'm really looking forward to reading it with class and discussing it. We don't talk about the novels we read for class too much, but I'm forcing my teacher to talk to us about this one, cause it's a book I really love.
And, lastly, I'm reading Choke. I saw that the movie was about to come out, so I moved it up on my queue.

I would have to put a bump on Stephen King's "Dark Tower" Series, 7 books of ownage. is a book called "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, great science fiction there.

Choke was great. I'd recommend that to everyone.
I just finished Chuck Palahniuk's newest novel "Snuff", tonight. I loved that. I'd recommend that to everyone as well.
And I just read A Clockwork Orange, that was pretty good too.

And in class I read The Awakening by Kate Chopin. It was lame as hell.
