I am holding off on reading catcher i nthe rye and some others because I know I will have to read them next summer to get into honors english. Also I am glad to see such a productive response. It's good to see that people still read out there in the technological world. Has and one read Fahrenheit 451? Oh and Julie I will read anthem. It sounds alot like a short story we read this year called Harrison Begeron. It's a story where everyone is handicapped to be equal. The smart wear a headset that emits a noise every 20 secs to stop their thinking and the beautiful wear masks.

Catcher in the Rye- J.D Salinger
Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas - Hunter Thompson
The Bear - Faulkner (very hard read, but once you do research the book opens up, and his message is very interesting)
Slaughter-house five - Vonnegut
Cat's Cradle - Vonnegut
Sirens of Titan - Vonnegut
A Clockwork Orange - (I've forgotten the author)
Notes From Underground - Dostoevsky (another fairly difficult one if you want to get the whole meaning)
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime - (forgotten the author)
That's pretty much my summer reading this year (and of course the Harry Potters, but everyone and their marment knows about those).

I just picked up The Sword of Shannara for the four time...It is a little difficult to get into though. Harrison Bergeron was an excellent short story one of the best I have read in a long time. Battle Royale doesnt sound to bad either.

No he just cant read well. That is all he is saying, his reading level is probably that of an elementary school student. Not that I'm making fun of you dude, many of my friends have the same problem. To which I say, fuck it.
