its really not a matter of how WELL you can read, but comprehending the subject matter at hand. if you can understand what the author is trying to say, then youre already ahead of the game.. regardless if you cant read all that well

No way, I love Poe.
Actually, I have his entire poetical works. From Project Gutenburg.
You just need to re-read it if you miss it the first time.
@ Hockeyman: I've read Fahrenheit 451. It wasn't bad at all.
It was pretty crazy to see all the stuff he guessed about, in 1953, and see it happening now.
Edit: 3 pages in a few hours... I vote sticky this thread!

modern screenwriters will never be able to capture the dark themes that Poe created in his work. The Raven is one of the darkest poems ive ever read
and ill stick it since it looks like we might be able to get deeper discussions out of this thread

Yeah, nice. Congrats on the sticky.
Yes, Poe's work is dark, but in a satisfying way.
Here is a link to The Raven for anyone who wants to read it.

Poe was one of the best and most influential authors ever. He shall always be in my top 5 favorites of all time. You can read everyone of his poems over and over and still find things that you missed before, small clever things. Plus his mind was dark and twisted and that is great.
